British billionaire Richard Branson christened the world's first facility designed for private-sector space travel in grand style today, rappelling down the glass-sheathed side of Spaceport America's spaceship complex with a champagne bottle in hand.

The facility was built by Branson's company Virgin Galactic. The cost of one suborbital flight will be around $200,000 and it will iclude a 2,5 hour flight and 5 minutes of zero-gravity experience. First flights are planned for the end of 2012, and there are already 450 clients who've booked their flight already.
